The Center for Special Education Advocacy creates both short teaching videos, interviews with leading special and general educators, and produces professional, online courses for both educators and parents. The Special Education Essential Knowledge and Skills Training Course is geared toward educational leaders; however, anyone wanting a strong command of special education and school procedures and policies can benefit greatly from the course. Coming soon, a course just for parents will be created and available on this page. The course will provide parents with all of the knowledge about special education law, parent advocacy, school procedures, critical aspects of IEP's, disability rights, due process, and much, much more. Stay tuned for new content in the near future. Coming Summer of 2019 -- A New Advocacy Training Course for Parents! In order to support parents in the special education process, the Center will be providing a full course that takes the parent through the entire special education experience. The parent will be equipped with all of the tools, knowledge, and skills necessary to successfully maximize the educational experience and opportunity for their child. Attending IEP meetings can be intimidating and overwhelming, by educating yourself and gaining 'insider' insight, you, too, can be a full, contributing, confident, and influential member of the IEP team.
